The Department of Second Foreign Languages

The Department of Second Foreign Languages is headed by the Candidate of Pedagogy and Associate Professor Davydenko Y. E.

The teaching staff includes Associate Professors: Beresten’ E. E., Vorobyov V. T., Mikhalkov Y. V.; Senior lecturers: Borisevich I. P., Voronova M. N., Radaeva G. D., Ratomskaya L. V. and lecturers: Matvienko N. O., Lukina S. G. and others.

Lecturers and Senior Lectures of the Chair had their training at leading national and international linguistic centres such as:

Goethe Institute (Kiev and Dnipropetrovsk branches),

German Academic Exchange Center (DAAD),

French Center of Documentation,

Higher Establishment of Foreign Language Teaching,

Cervantes Institute (Kiev branch).

The subjects taught are: Translation Theory, Interpreting and others.

The Department teaches the students of the Institute of International Communications as well as other institutes. In 2003, the Department got its name because of reorientation to teaching several foreign languages (German, French and Spanish) as second foreign languages.
